On
March 30, 2021 a regular meeting of the members of the International Thematic
Group on Energy of the BRICS Network University was held online. The meeting
was organized by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay). The
meeting was attended by representatives of all universities that are members of
the International Thematic Group, as well as a number of other universities from
India.
The
Spring meeting of the ITG Energy was thematic and devoted to the Renewable
Energy Generation and Storage. Reports were made by employees of such
universities as Federal University of Santa Catarina and Federal University of
Viçosa, Brazil; National Research University "MPEI", Moscow Institute
of Physics and Technology and Faculty of Ecology of Peoples' Friendship University
of Russia, Russia; Indian Institute of Technology Bombay and Banaras Hindu
University Varanasi, India; Hohai University, North China University of Water
Resources and Electric Power and Hunan University, China; North West University
and University of Limpopo, South Africa, and Indian Institute of Technology
Madras, India.
In
the discussion that followed the reports, all participants of the meeting noted
the relevance of the chosen topic for the universities participating in the ITG
and agreed to repeat such a meeting in the format of a webinar, giving the
floor mainly to graduate students, who will develop academic exchanges between
the universities of the BRICS countries in practice.
